Farmington will be receiving about $20 million in taxes during the course of the 30-year lease agreement. Sandy River Farm, lower left, at 560 Farmington Falls Road/Route 2, in Farmington, is renting about 500 acres of farmland to NextEra Energy where 300,000 solar panels are being erected. Like many farmers around the country, Sandy River Farm owner Bussie York has turned to alternative uses for their farmland in order to stay afloat.
