Eid al-Fitr celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan are taking place across the world. It was evident in Kennedy Park Thursday afternoon as bright colors and muslims painted with henna were in abundance, like 15 year old Arbai Abdi, 15 of Lewiston. Traditionally, the holy month of fasting ends with the sighting of the new moon. It culminates in scenes of merriment and thanksgiving, with families and friends gathering to exchange gifts, enjoy food and festively decorate their homes.
