Delaney Morris, 4, left and her brother Nathan, 5 of Auburn check out the competition, Adrien Melanson, 10, of Poland, just prior to Friday night's judging of cardboard box cars at the Hasty Memorial Armory. With many unique creations on display, the competition was close, but Melanson managed to drive away with the most creative prize for his car, whose hood lifted to display an engine, while the Morris creation walked away with the overall prize. After the judging, everyone settled in to watch a movie.

A black swallow tail feeds between holes at Springbrook Golf Club in Leeds Wednesday afternoon. The caterpillar has a special gland called an osmeterium that emits a foul odor when the caterpillar is threatened. It is one of the most common butterflies in North America.
