The unusual behavior and condition of the animal, prompted a game warden to advise LPD dispatcher to "euthanize" the animal as it most likely had "moose sickness" caused by parasites, more commonly referred to as earworm.

The Maine State Police Tactical Squad prepares to enter 181 Holland Street, which is connected to 181 Holland where a man named Dan was keeping police at bay. According to family members, a long standing domestic dispute has been going on between the man and neighbors. Police were at the location yesterday, and this morning at 5am when Justin Lord, 21 of 2 Towle Street, left for work, according to his sister Karen Brown, the man confronted Justin at the 7-11 just up the street. He pulled a "six shooter" pointed it at his head and cocked the gun. He said something to Justin, then ran back to his apartment where he is now holed up.

Lewiston police were questioning her to find out how she ended up on the edge of the Androscoggin River. She was found by St. Peters Cemetery worker Kevin Burgess when he heard her cries for help after he went looking for the driver of a vehicle abandoned in the cemetery.
An unidentified woman peers out the door of the Lewiston Public Library after spending the night locked inside. She was in the bathroom when the library was locked for the night. Somebody walking down Park Street heard her knocking and called the police. When police and a library official arrived to unlock the door, she stormed out telling her plight and refusing to identify herself. Officials chuckled, shrugged their shoulders and went back to work with a sheepish grin.

After thwarting the attempted escape, the toughest part was trying to find a place to drop it off as the SPCA did not want to take it since the lost pet was not injured.
Lewiston Police Lt. David Chamberlain begins chasing down Kevin Pease 22 of Lisbon Falls. The incident started when Chamberlain told a double parked motorist to move his car from Lisbon Street. Chamberlain said Pease then interfered and ignored his warnings to leave. Pease intentionally bumped the Lewiston Police Officer and began running after Chamberlain told him he was under arrest. The chase went down Lisbon onto Pine then down Canal to Chestnut. After realizing that he could not outrun the officer (he is currently training for an upcoming marathon), Pease gave up in front of the Bates Mill Complex. Pease was charged with disorderly conduct.
Auburn firefighters use their axes to help chop away a snowbank after their truck got stuck in the parking lot of the Auburn Plaza during the height of a snowstorm. Nearly every truck responding to a gas leak got stuck in the icy lot. A snowblower hit a natural gas pipe behind one of the stores forcing the majority of stores in the mall to be evacuated.
