Auburn Mayor Jonathan Labonte heads into the dunk tank for the first time Tuesday night in the middle of Main Street as it was closed down by Festival Plaza as Auburn Police Department hosted their Auburn's Night Out Against Crime, part of National Night out. Across the river, Lewiston also held their own at Marcotte Park. The 32nd Annual National Night Out was celebrated across the country Tuesday, serving as a creative crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) , a non-profit, crime prevention organization that works in cooperation with thousands of crime watch groups and law enforcement agencies throughout the country. Since 1981, the NATW has been dedicated to the development, growth, and maintenance of organized crime and drug prevention programs nationwide.
