Bates Dance Festival

Ava Thomas of Portland, Maine, flies through the air during Monday's Modern Dance Class at the Young Dancers Workshop, part of the Bates Dance Festival. The world renouned festival, founded in 1983, brings young, aspiring dancers together with acclaimed professionals where both feed off eath other's talents and energy. There are public performances throughout the festival, which runs until the beginning of August with many free events.
